About Me
I live with my husband and three children near Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. After working for several years in the medical field as a family practice physician assistant, I stepped away from my career to be a stay-at-home mom.
While home with small children, I started writing about parenting and family life as a creative outlet. I quickly discovered that finding and sharing the humor in everyday suburban life can be a great stress reliever.
My nonfiction book Save Money on Groceries by Going Back to Basics was born of my own journey to feeding my family healthy food on a tight budget. The book is available on Amazon and I've been featured on several local news outlets as a grocery savings expert. I am a part of the MOPS Speaker Network to speak to MOPS and other organizations on the principals in my book. If you would like to discuss having me as a guest speaker for your group or organization, please contact me.
The Pacific Northwest Writers Association, a great organization of which I am a member, holds an annual literary contest. I have been a both a finalist and a winner in various categories of this contest. I have also served as a judge for the PNWA Literary Contest for several years.
My love of the written word extends to editing. I love to take on freelance editing projects, especially for small business owners. If you are in need of editing, feel free to contact me to discuss my rates. See testimonials from my clients here.
Although I mainly write essays and articles, I've also delved into fiction. I've written three picture books, one of which, Loud Lani, won second place in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest in 2010. I've also written a middle-grade novel called Adeline's Mirror, a ghost story set in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. Adeline's Mirror was a finalist in the 2012 Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest.
